Google my business. It's important. It's just important.
More people are going to want to get things locally. And that's where a Google my business comes in. It's for local business. For the most part. Now, I don't know if your business is local. If it is 50/50 or if it is international. If it's international, this page is not for you, but if your business is local, if you sell locally, then Google My Business is absolutely vital. Absolutely vital. Now, what does that mean? It means you need to come up for your search term within Google Maps. It means that when someone searches for your search term, wherever it happens to be. So let's say let's pick something randomly. Let's say you're selling chairs, "office chairs in Dublin" or "office chairs in London" you need to come up, you need to show up in the three pack in Google Maps.

Now, how do you do that? You make sure you look after your listings, so you claim your listing, you fill it up. You put all your business information into it. You take messages on your listing and you have what's called citations. All citations mean, is that you are listed on important sites. Your name, address, and phone number have to show up on these sites. And Google checks if you show up on the correct sites, but you've got to make sure that your name, address, phone number are exactly the same on every site. That gives your listing credibility and gives you a higher position in Google Maps.

You need to spend money. If you want business, if you're running a business and you want people to spend money with you, you have got to run ads. It's just the way it is. You don't have to spend a lot of money, sometimes €30 / day will do it, but you have to spend some money
It can be Google My Business ads, it can be Facebook and Instagram ads, YouTube ads, Tiktok ads, LinkedIn. It doesn't matter, but you have to have to run ads to no way around that these days.
When running Google My Business Adverts, you need a system and strategy. Going for the sale straight away is not always the best way to do it. Can we give a free sample, a "tripwire" product or setup a phone call to close the prospect later. Remember this may be the first time that they hear about your company.

Things are opening up at the moment. Now the economy's gonna grow. People are promising us that this is going to be like the 1920s, a huge boom. And there may be some inflation. But if you want to get involved in that, in the boom, you've got to spend money on ads. Start bringing prospects into your business!
It's just the way it is. So if you have a good system where you have your ads running, they're going to a nice little funnel and people are saved and sent into your email system, where you send them useful information, some people will unsubscribe and some won't and the people that unsubscribe. You want them to unsubscribe because you don't want to be sending things to people that don't want them. So you want them to unsubscribe, that's really important. It's a whole funnel and process. So the people who stay on are the people who may be interested in buying the future, but you need a good backend system and you probably need to give quite a bit of value upfront. And you have to spend money on ads. There's no way around that, but Google My Business, if you've got a good system, Google, my business is just so, so important right now.
